Intake Instructions
To access the program, people can call the shelter line at 651-319-2153 between 9 a.m. and noon, Monday-Friday. Guests will complete a screening over the phone to ensure that they are eligible for the program. If eligible, a time to complete the intake and move to the hotel will be scheduled.
Service Description
This project serves single adults who: are connected to Dakota County, are currently homeless, have a disabling condition, and are not currently experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
Other important notes about this program:
- We do serve couples. One person in the couple needs to meet the eligibility criteria.
- If a guest is unable to call the shelter line, they can send a text to the shelter line or send an email to shelter@matrixhousingservices.org to access the program.
- We can assist with transportation to the hotel and to and from work and appointments.
- We ensure that all guests have food for three meals per day.
- Pets are accepted.
- All guests are expected to meet regularly with a shelter advocate and develop and work on a service plan.
- Unlike in our rotating shelter where we are unable to serve people with a sex offense or arson conviction, we will review those convictions on a case by case basis when screening new guests.
- A staff person is typically at the hotel daily during regular work hours and there is a staff person on-call 24-hours a day.
