Once you are in a shelter bed you can reserve your bed for the next night by letting staff know in the evening when you check in or the morning before you leave.

Service Description

Catholic Charities offers 356 shelter beds for adults 18 years of age or older who can show that they are not housed and able to stay safely in the shelter.  If you have housing, you will be turned away.  There are no medical services, so you must be able to care for yourself without assistance.

For the safety and well-being of everyone, you will have your belongings searched for any banned items such as alcohol, illegal drugs or guns.  Metal detectors are also used for security. During your check in, you will be asked for information to be entered in to the state’s HMIS data system, and will be given an ID if you don’t already have one.

You will receive a top or bottom bunk with a locker.  A lock can be rented for $5 with the funds returned when you leave. During your stay you will have access to showers, television, vending machines and hygiene supplies.

10:30 p.m. is quiet time with the lights out.  If you are working, you can leave and return to the shelter during your stay.  The shelter closes at 9:30 a.m. and everyone must leave.

Rule-outs

Cannot serve under 18.  Must have a picture ID.
